Treating A Teacher To A THANK YOU!

You get those few moments in your life... when a parent just reaches out and give you a handful of LOVE! :) I tend to get those moments more than a few times. I often find myself overly spoiled by the parents in my classroom. They always remember to say Thank You...and remind me every now and than that although I demand a lot and can be a pain in the bottom.. I am doing a good job in teaching their children! How awesome are some of these TREATS!

Happy Birthday To Me!

Birthday Week! I never imagined that I would turn 26 years old.. and have all that I have been blessed with... an amazing job, family, support system, husband, living in Florida, owning a house, owning a car!!! Hey... its the small things.. at 20 I was just living with my parents, partying and working... to party. I never lived a crazy life.. just a life that tend to get out of focused. Today I am truly BLESSED and feeling old.. although I know its just the start of all the amazing things God has in store for me and my family. We started off the week with dinner with friends and a parade for our local pirate festival. I came home to amazing flowers and melted chocolates from my in laws (YES I ATE THE MELTED CHOCOLATES). The next day my co-workers showered me with gifts and lunch. I was all smiles... May 31st was the last day of work for me.. Maternity Leave here I come.. I was proud to say that I worked as far as I did.. working with kids and being overly prego.. makes things harder and days longer... but it was all worth it that Mayana and I made it! :) That night dinner plans by Mike at Fridays and I came home to a card that made me cry.. and a foot bath. Amen for that foot bath. We finished my Birthday Week on Saturday as we geared up for a Mexican Fiesta hosted by my friends Lucy and John. All the ladies made the treats and they provided the TACOS!!! The men played poker and us ladies played Loteria! Having friends that become your family help you as your away from your family on days like your birthday!

A Teacher's Words...

It truly has been sometime since I have posted.. I had high hopes of posting more while the Mr. was away but life always takes over in the most random ways.. and I keep busy.

One of the things that consumes my life is TEACHING. I have the passion and dedication like no other to be a lasting impression on my young ones that I am with daily.
I stive to be creative in my teaching style and to always put a smile on the little faces of the ones who enter my life.

Over the course of two years I have been in two settings and I have earned my degree in the field of  Early Childhood Education to help me stive to me the BEST that I can be.

This week I relized two things. No matter what I will always remember the little ones who have enter into my life. I will always hope that when I am old and they have grown... that they will remember me for making them laugh, making them love to learn and for always being there for them.

I truly think that I hold these values at this point in my life beause I have no children of my own and well thats a story in itself.

I can assure you that as I type this... I am crying because I have just entered a point in my life... the point in which... I cry because I want to make sure I am doing what I should be as a teacher. More effort goes into my job and classroom than most tend to see. If I am crying it is because I am the one teacher WHO CARES the one teacher who is not there to collect a rate or a paycheck.

I sat down for a number of parent conferences this week. The conferences all went well and I have a few who are leaving VPK and entering into a whole mew little world of THE BIG KID SCHOOL. I have a few who will stay behind and with me for another year of learning.

I can only hope that in my later life... I will run into these little ones and they will say "HEY MRS. MONICA!" than ask me to give them a "OH YEAH".

To Be The Smile On A Childs Face

Mike and I have spent the last two weekends at Soccer Games!

I happen to have 4 little ones in my life that are playing soccer for our local youth soccer league. These little ones are the children that I spend Monday-Friday teaching. I have heard all about Soccer this and that for awhile now and decided since they are all playing on the same league to pay them a visit and cheer them on. I even made a t-shirt and was told that I am in fact their #1 fan!
I Love Soccer
And.. Grayson, Will, Campbell, Noah

These little ones make me proud because over the last two weekends I have seen them grow into a little soccer players. A couple still have trouble hitting the field and tears still enter their eyes if a play goes wrong, but at the end of the game they are full of SMILES.

Here are a few more picture that a awesome mom let me use for my blog!
Mike and I with some of our favorite soccer players!

Look at his face! He is waving to me from the field!

At the end of the day.. I want these children to remember me.. for the teacher that I am.Also for the  values that I have helped them build within my time with them as young children. I will hope that they will gain a foundation for life-long learning and come back to me one day to THANK me for the adults that they are becoming because of the help I gave them. Teaching is a job that is about giving. The reciving comes from the smiles that they give you daily.

Graduation.

On May 5 th I graduated.
There comes a point when all the hard work is worth it.. and that was the day. All the late nights of studying, Red Bulls, and countless times of crying all paid off!
I geared up with happy thoughts and a piece of my family with me.
All week I was Congratulated by our supportive family and friends. My family was able to watch over the computer. How amazing is technology to be able to see me walk across the stage from 1000's of miles away. Here are a few pictures of one of the happyest days of my little life.

Class of 2011 @ NWFSC

I sat in the 5th row!

Walking to get my Degree!

My dad's watch and a bracelet I had made!

My hubby and I after graduation!

Now now.. I am not fully done with my goals. I will be taking more classes at the college! I know your thinking I am crazy! The thing is I really want to get as much schooling done before we add on to our little family!

I ALWAYS DO THIS!!!

Tend to say I will be back more often...
then that big wind in life come and blows me down for a while!
I have so much on my hands with little time for me.
I am always asking myself.. HOW CAN I BALANCE!
Now don't get my wrong..
school is well worth it.. and working is to. I know one day I will be rocking a sweetchild who has all my time and at least once I will tell myself how much I am missing work.

Saying "NO" is the problem. I am ALL ABOUT TITLES!!! A Mrs., Teacher, Volunteer. Who does not want to be known for all these things? However because I am all about the titles and making myself feel good by having them. I end up losing some points in dinner with the husband, or kicking my feet up to a book.

I am sure it will not always be so busy. So until then I think I keep saying "YES" because one day I will be doing nothing but the things I enjoy.

As you know I went full time this semester.. so today I will finish up my LAST final as a FULL TIME STUDENT! YAHOO!!! Mind you I was working full time and managed a 99% in one of my classes! I was pretty excited. I got my National CDA (which is a certification for Early Childhood) and got the award for student of the year for the Early Childhood Department!

I would have to say I am pretty darn glad that I could manage all of that!

May 5th I will be walking early! I am bit nearvous but I will save that for another day.

This weekend will go by quite fast. Mike will be working and I will be ORGANIZING and getting ready for MAY!

Have a great weekend ALL!

Being A Teacher.. Means Being Crafty!

This was the season for me to be crafty on a budget!
With 36 children and 12 other teachers to buy for the HOLIDAYS!
So.. crafty I was.. here are a few pictures of some of the things I was able to make with the help of a few children and myself!
Cookies in a JAR!!! What a bargain I got the jars for 10 cents each!

Ornaments for the children to give their parents out of their hands and feet!

These are the bags I made for the 4 children in my afternoon class! I used stamps, circuit, glitter paint, and markers!

I collected these as gifts for the 4 children all under 10 dollars!

The children made the reindeer food and I scraped this for them!

I had keys donated for ACE HARDWARE and made Santa's Magic key for them!

They also painted bags and ornaments for their parents and I managed to make 30 small candy bags for under 10 dollars!
I would have to say I had tons of fun getting everything in order and making the items that I did with the children in my classroom! The holidays are around the corner and I hope that they all love their items from their children and I!

Why I Have Been Busy..

This group of 30 kids above is my morning group!

This group above is my little afternoon group!

I am a teacher.. and it calls for tons of work during school hours and out of school hours. On any given day I see 40-50 kids!
 THATS ALOT OF KIDS! :)
I work mornings at one school and then I drive to teach afternoons at a different school. Its all VPK.
I would like to think I have the best job ever.. I go to work and play for hours and hours haha!
Those little ones have been the reason for my absence with posting. I have just been way busy with my teaching, going to school, and my little jewelry line. With my husband being in ALS it helps because he is over busy to.... I will try to get on here more often to place a few post because I do miss getting comment and I do miss reading everyone's post. I hope you all have had a great weekend! I HAVE!
